About this directory
What this directory is
Toronto, Ontario Insurance Agency Guide lists 415 insurance agencies across the city, built for people trying to figure out which local agency is worth a phone call. Maybe you need auto, home, tenant, or commercial coverage, and you want a shortlist that’s grounded in actual data rather than whichever ad happened to show up first. That’s the gap we’re filling.
We are not the agencies themselves, and we don’t write marketing copy on their behalf. We’re an independent layer that pulls together public business information and recent Google review activity, then organizes it into something you can actually compare.
How listings get built
Every listing starts with public business data: address, hours, licensing category, years active where available, and similar factual details. We also synthesize recent Google reviews to understand overall sentiment and service patterns over time. We do not republish review text or copy reviews onto this site. Instead, we link out to each business’s Google listing directly, so you can read the original reviews yourself in full context.
How ranking actually works
Rankings come from a published rubric applied consistently to the data we collect: things like review volume, sentiment trends, responsiveness signals, and business consistency over time. Nobody on our team nudges a score because they like a business or because a business asks nicely. The full breakdown of factors and weighting is public at /methodology/, so you can see exactly how a position is earned rather than taking our word for it.
A listed agency can request corrections to its own factual details (a wrong phone number, an outdated address, changed hours) and we’ll update those. What a business cannot do is edit its own score, its sentiment read, or its ranking position. That separation is the whole point of an independent directory.
Sponsorship, clearly separated
Some pages include sponsored placements. These are always labeled “Sponsored,” displayed in their own section apart from the earned ranking, and they never move, boost, or replace a business’s actual rubric-based position. Paying us does not buy a better rank. We don’t sell placement in the rankings themselves, full stop.
Where enquiries go
Toronto, Ontario Insurance Agency Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource. We also generate enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request, and we may receive a referral fee for that connection. Referral arrangements never affect scores or earned rankings. The quote page spells this out in more detail before you submit anything.
Who’s behind it
This site is published by ONmetrics, an Ontario firm that’s been operating since 2016, working on SEO, paid search, web design, and data attribution for businesses across the province. Their approach leans on technical execution and proprietary attribution tooling to track what’s actually driving results, not just surface-level clicks. You can see more of their work at on-metrics.com, or reach the publisher directly at info@on-metrics.com.
Editorial oversight of the rankings sits with Dave De Vries, Owner. Data across the directory is refreshed monthly, and each individual listing carries a “last verified” stamp so you can see when it was last checked, rather than wondering if you’re looking at something stale.

FAQ
- Can an insurance agency pay to rank higher?
- No. Rankings are earned from a published rubric applied to public data and review sentiment. Sponsored placements exist but are labeled separately and never change earned rankings.
- Do you publish the actual review text?
- No. We synthesize recent Google review sentiment and link directly to each business's Google listing so you can read reviews in their original context.
- Can a listed business fix wrong information about itself?
- Yes, factual details like hours, address, or phone number can be corrected on request. A business cannot edit its own score, sentiment, or ranking.
- What happens when I ask to be matched with a provider?
- We pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee. This never influences the rankings shown on the site.
- How often is the data updated?
- The directory refreshes monthly, and each listing shows a last verified date reflecting when it was last checked.
